I help grow small companies to the next level of their success through analysis of current assets and liabilities; verification of all balance sheet accounts with supporting documents and records. I then analyze all related accounts, finding where the true expense and the spending of cash lies.

I help companies to review employees for new or renewed training, making them more efficient and at times change their positions based on their talents. I also offer Managerial Consulting so that your employees are ready to deal with staff that is hired under them.

I have found that small companies for the first 2 years, are working at such a pace…Dad works all day, mom vacuums the office after hours, none of the office furniture matches, and the kids come in and empty trash and clean on weekends. Then one day, they get up and realize they are a viable company making real money, and now have liabilities that could end their business with one small law suit.

Most small companies think that if they hire the right Human Resource Manager, or the right General Manager or Production Manager, that they will be “ok”…however, those positions demand high salaries as well as the benefit packages that drive them higher still. In order to reduce the risk of an employee lawsuit, documents such as an Employee Handbook should be available. Hire/Termination packages should be a must. Are their employee files in order? Some of these documents themselves are quite costly to have designed for your company.

I have prepared documents that can be customized to your company and its specific needs, from Health benefits to vacation and PTO (Personal Time Off) information for your employees. These documents are regularly reviewed for legal accuracy so that your employees are very clear on your practices, policy and procedures as well as expectations for performance and the consequences of poor work ethics. I prepare them at a fraction of the cost, and then they are yours to keep and reproduce. As your company changes, I can update these for you or simply advise you on how to do it yourself.

I have been an analyst for well over 25 years. I have a diverse background in auditing, analysis and review of Balance Sheet accounts for accuracy, to support company stability and activity, including the verification and support for assets and their depreciation.

I have had the opportunity to be part of 2 IPO’s (Public Offerings), bankruptcy reviews including Chapter 11 and Chapter 7; this last year I found an embezzler in a company that had gone unnoticed for over a year, since there was no one with a background to review the Balance Sheet, daily accounting or general journal activity prior to my arrival. The loss sustained by this company due to embezzlement was over $80K.
In another company, over $10K had been stolen by staff through their ‘Will call’ window in less than 4 months. This was located through bank reconciliation reviews and their relation to Accounts Receivable.

I have negotiated full company moves to larger facilities, with rent agreements at slow or no increase while company growth continues, making the transition financially easier, including phone systems, computer systems, security systems, as well as meeting with contractors and the lease holders as necessary to ready the building.

I find joy in seeing the owners of these companies want to go to work again at their own businesses. I love the feeling of knowing that they are safer as they proceed into a whole new level of growth, and I help them save money while they do it.

Available products and training

Employee Handbooks
Purchased once, one per employee and one master copy. These are yours to keep and are easily updated. They are spiral or binder bound to last.

Hire/Termination Packages
Includes all required documents from I-9 and W-4, to ‘Offer of Employment’ letters specific to your requests. Also included are the forms for reviews, employee warnings, and exit interviews due to lay-offs or terminations.
These are purchased in packages of 10 and can also be prepared for you to change as necessary and reproduce.

Management Training
Ability to motivate staff; remain focused; delegate and become more efficient; hands-on management style with staff support and loyalty, while maintaining a strong level of authority. Purchased in blocks of hours based on time constraints and needs.

Month End Process
Once complete, a determined path through month-end will be established and trained to your staff accountant so that all areas of your financials are regularly reviewed for accuracy and in a short amount of time so that the current months activity is not delayed.

How do I save you money, you may wonder?

There is no need to hire high end management staff at this time in your growth, with the added expense of health benefits, vacation packages as well as Employer Portion of taxes, Workers Comp and training. I provide the tools from Employee Handbooks and Hire/Termination Packages, to management training, to deep review of Balance Sheet accounts and expenses. The only position required at a fraction of the cost would be an entry level to mid level accountant that would take over once your accounts are reviewed and in order, and I would follow-up once a month or if you choose once per quarter and then help through year end preparation for taxes if requested as well. I would remain as an on-call consultant for continued review for your peace of mind.

If necessary, I can negotiate vendor payment terms as well as review contracts for warehouse storage or lease options on your building to also save expense and reduce liabilities that may threaten your business.
